The Dortebach valley was placed under nature protection as early as 1930 and is therefore the oldest nature reserve along the Moselle. After the last ice age, a special microclimate developed in the Dortebach valley, which offers a habitat for rare plants and animals from the Mediterranean countries, from the Black Sea and also from the Alps. From there you will be led past orchards to the "Kasteschkopp" lookout point, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Moselle valley and the vineyard terraces.
