    St. Mary's Church Reutlingen
Built from 1247 to 1343 as a Gothic basilica with late Romanesque elements in the choir area. West tower (71 m) with gilded angel sculpture from 1343. The church was badly damaged in the city fire of 1726, but the late Gothic holy grave and the baptismal font from 1499 were preserved. Between 1893 and 1901, it was fundamentally restored in the neo-Gothic style. In 1988, St. Mary's Church was declared a "National Cultural Monument".

St. Mary's Church, named after the mother of Jesus, is one of the landmarks of the Baden-Württemberg district town of Reutlingen. The church, built between 1247 and 1343, is now one of the most beautiful and important Gothic religious buildings in Württemberg.
From 1521 to 1548 it was the place of work of the "Swabian reformer" Matthäus Alber, who used this place to spread the teachings of Martin Luther's Reformation in what was then the Free Imperial City and in southwest Germany. Since then, St. Mary's Church has been the center of Reutlingen's Protestant community.
St. Mary's Church was badly damaged in the great city fire of 1726, which destroyed around 80% of Reutlingen's buildings; the interior furnishings that had existed up to that point were lost, with the exception of the late Gothic Holy Sepulchre and the baptismal font from 1499.
Between 1893 and 1901, the church was extensively restored in neo-Gothic style.
Since 1988, St. Mary's Church has been one of Germany's national cultural monuments.
