    The Anglican parish church of St. Mary and St. Gabriel occupies an elevated position at the south-west end of the village street. It has a copper spire on the tower and six bells. Major restoration work was carried out in the 1850s and further improvements were made in 2010, including the construction of an adjoining room for the Sunday School.


    The churchyard contains the tall South Harting War Memorial Cross, (1920), a First World War monument by Eric Gill with the bas-relief of St. Patrick attributed to Gill by Hilary Stratton.
