On November 20, 1842, the journeyman carpenter Christian Friedrich Mayer was attacked, robbed and murdered here. Mayer was on his way home from Cainsdorf, where he had sold lumber. Therefore he carried a well-filled bag with money, which his murderer probably noticed in a tavern. Despite a reward of 500 marks, the murderer was never caught. The stone is both a memorial stone and a memorial stone.
