The origins of the linden avenue on Friedenshöhe date back to the end of the Franco-Prussian War of 1871. In the spring of 1871, the community of Flacht celebrated a peace festival during which a Kaiser linden tree was planted at the highest point of the Ettlesberg. Shortly thereafter, nearly 100 linden trees were planted, which today form the avenue.
