Fabulous views north, and if you are headed that way, then the coastal public footpath is much more enjoyable than the Cinder Track, although the latter is lined by mature trees providing welcome shade from the sun on a hot summer's day. I took the footpath north and the Cinder Track back to Ravenscar on a very hot Sunday morning, a fantastic walk.
