Whitby Harbour has everything you need - beautiful views of the River Esk (including the swing bridge), numerous shops, cafes, fish and chips shops, and places to buy souvenirs. In the summer, particularly at weekends, it is likely be very busy.

Nice little town, cosy streets. The boulevard on the west side (Pier Road) however has turned into a fair. Too bad.
