The beach landscape near Schmoel is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Schwartbuck and Stakendorf in the Plön district. The name is derived from the nearby Gut Schmoel.

The land protection dike was removed here to compensate for the reinforcement of the dike and so came under the influence of the Baltic Sea again. In the NSG there are several shallow beach lakes, moist depressions and sedge reeds as well as brackish water reeds and dry grass areas. To the Baltic Sea, the beach wall and beach as well as a 50 meter wide shallow water area of the Baltic Sea are included in the nature reserve. Large areas between the beach lakes, which were partially used as fields before the protection was placed, are again occupied by trees and bushes. Parts of the reserve are grazed extensively with Angus cattle.
A nice change from the otherwise dyke-ness. There is a bench near the highlight, from which you have a beautiful view over the beach lake.
