The Eibach lock was built between October 1971 and August 1978 as part of the construction of the Main-Danube Canal federal waterway.[4] It is designed as an economy lock with three economy basins to the west of the lock chamber and is located immediately south of the port of Nuremberg.

An imposing structure and with a lock height of 19.49 meters only slightly smaller than the visitors - Eckersmühlen lock. If you are lucky you can watch the locks. How little space remains for the "canal giants" although the lock is 190m long and 12m wide.
