Built of dry stone on the foundations of slate cliffs, it probably dates, according to tradition, to the construction of the railway in 1830 or during the development of the first hiking trails.

The bridge is associated with a legend involving farmers from the hamlet of Ninane and the other surrounding hamlets who made a pact with the devil.

In the past, farmers from the hamlet of Ninane and the surrounding hamlets would travel to the city via the Vesdre valley. To reach Chaudfontaine, there was only one path accessible and in the middle of this path stood a rudimentary bridge that they had to cross.

However, one fine morning, the farmers noticed that the bridge in question had collapsed. After lamenting all day and after examining the situation, the desperate farmers decided, as night fell, to return home. It was at this moment that the devil appeared in a whirlwind of flames. The farmers, trembling with fear, heard Satan offer them the following deal: "By tomorrow morning, the bridge will be rebuilt. But, in compensation, I ask you to give me the soul of the first creature to cross the new bridge".

The farmers, fundamentally Christian, refused. Time passed and misery began to be felt. Driven by hunger, the peasants returned to the ruins of the bridge and concluded the deal proposed by Satan. The next day, they discovered the bridge rebuilt and Satan waiting for his victim. They consulted together. They placed a large sack at the entrance to the bridge from which a magnificent goat escaped, which rushed and threw itself into the arms of the devil who, deceived, returned howling to the eternal fire of his cursed kingdom.

It is original, very well built and ideally located between a viewpoint and a small forest torrent.
