The name of the Roman Catholic Church means "Our Lady of Sorrows". Inside the church is the Madonna, called "Our Lady of the Volcanoes". Thanks to the people of Mancha Blanca - ia. with a pilgrimage on 15 September - that she had saved the village during the great volcanic eruptions in the 1700s and 1800s from destruction by lava flows.
