According to one tradition, a carriage is said to have sunk at this point, according to another, there is said to have been a brutal stagecoach attack here. Both traditions can be read in the Fürstenwalde local chronicle. The local researcher received the last certainty that it was really a pilgrim's cross from Gerold Bobe. The Müglitzer can still remember pilgrims who stopped in front of the cross to pray.
