The disused roundhouse is located between busy railway tracks in the Lichtenberg district. The dome hall - the central building of the facility - consists of a turntable and maintenance pits, 24 columns support the ceiling dome. In the mid-1990s, Deutsche Bahn stopped using the facility and left it to fall into disrepair. No new use concept has yet been found for the industrial monument, as its location between the railway tracks makes direct access impossible. The roundhouse is now very dilapidated. The round locomotive shed was probably built around 1900 in the Rummelsburg marshalling yard by the Royal Railway Directorate. It has a diameter of 60 meters and is supported by 24 cast iron supports arranged within a radius of 15 meters around the center. The dome, modeled on Johann Wilhelm Schwedler's dome buildings, has a diameter of 30 meters. The turntable with a diameter of 16 meters dates back to the early days.
