Beautiful medieval castle with what I'd call the best views in the Dales! Dating back to 14th century and built by Richard le Scrope, the then Lord Chancellor of England, the ruins have had legions of important people reside there including Mary, Queen of Scots (imprisoned for 6 months in 1568!) and her entourage while en route from Scotland to Gloucestershire.
