    The Pöpping farm complex is not a monument or a museum, but it is a museum complex with the character of a monument. The location of the courtyard and the grouping of the buildings corresponds completely to the design plan of old Münsterland courtyards: the courtyard is close to a watercourse, but outside the lowland, i.e. exactly at the interface between the willows and the ash areas. It is a stroke of luck that such a suitable location could be found and made available here on the outskirts of Elte in the immediate vicinity of several old farms. In the long run, the Pöpping farm complex will hardly be distinguishable from the neighboring old farmsteads.

    You may ask yourself why this "old" farm is not listed in the older plans and maps!
