In the old town of Hann. Münden is home to Café Aegidius in the medieval Aegidien church.

    Aegidien Church in Hann. Munden:

The church in its present form emerged only after the Thirty Years' War. After the explosion of a nearby powder magazine during the war, only the sacristy and apse of the original church stood still.

The origins of the previous church are unclear. While according to one opinion, the church should have been built in the course of the establishment of the royal court of Münden, which would then lie before the actual city foundation, other sources are used for the thesis that the church origin only in connection with the founding of the city center 12th century has emerged. After that, the predecessors of today's St. Aegidien church were a chapel (around 1150) and a Gothic church, from which today the cross vaults in the sanctuary and in the sacristy are preserved.

After the reconstruction of the church, the widely visible tower was added in 1733.

In a crypt in the choir room in the middle of the altar, Doctor Eisenbart was buried in 1727, to which today a Baroque grave plate reminds.

The Aegidien church was developed in 2006. In 2008, Bernd Demandt bought the building for a symbolic Euro. On May 1, 2010, he opened a café in the former church.

On the north side - right on the outer wall - the Aegidiuskirche is the tombstone of Dr. med. Eisenbart (2nd tombstone right of the entrance).
