Where are the waterfalls? Some hikers ask themselves this when they stand on the covered wooden bridge that leads between Irrel and Prümzurlay over the Prüm. The imposing rapids that you look down on from the bridge were given this name as early as the 19th century. If you look at historical photos, you will see countless cascades and wildly splashing water; the spectacle may have calmed down a bit since the Bitburg reservoir was built in the 1970s, but it is still impressive and the waterfalls are a place with a very special atmosphere.
