For the first time the castle was mentioned in 1337 in writing. In 1658, the weir was burned down in the Dutch-French War and no longer built. Today, the path leads to the castle ruins over the ditch, which formerly secured the east side. As you climb up to the top of the pentagonal tower, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view over the Prüm valley. The vaulted cellar is still accessible via a staircase.

Both the tower and a cellar of the small castle are accessible and can be visited. The place is beautiful in the sun in the evening. The castle is worth a little detour.

Fine facility that can probably be traced back to a follower of Charlemagne... at least that's what it says... I can't believe it anymore... it was before my time..🥴
