The siding was part of the narrow-gauge Tajuña railway, which linked Madrid with the Tajuña valley and Alcarria. Two branches started from the Cornicabra station that linked the main road with two nearby stone quarries,1 Cornicabra and Valhondo. The railway facilities included a main building, a siding track and two branch lines that went to the quarries.
