The imposing oak tree is (according to the signage) approximately 700 years old.

The oak tree served as a "grazing oak," meaning for fattening pigs in the fall.

According to oral tradition, Napoleon and his troops rested here in 1806/07.

Update 2025: Due to forestry work, the narrow path to the oak tree has been completely destroyed, making access difficult.
