It really does look like walking through the dam on a dam, but that's not entirely true. Coming from Diehsa, the Reichendorf sub-basin is on the left, which actually belongs to the dam. However, the Diehsaer Neuteich is to the right of the path.
From this dam one has the opportunity to see the osprey nest on the electricity pylon or the cormorants on the dead trees or the gray and great egrets on the banks and of course many more waterfowl. In the Neuteich there is a seagull island.
