The water holes are rare in the Haard. The NSG Brinksknapp seems all the more worth seeing. A small Noah's Ark in the shape of a pond: a pair of gray geese, a pair of mallards and a coot duo play on the reed-up water, on whose banks some very rustic tree shapes surprise you.

It was the idea of a forester to push up a dam at this point in order to dammed up any water. This man-made biotope is now the only larger water point in the Haard after the Gerne spring dried up in the 1970s as a result of mining influences.
