Ramelsloh is one of the oldest towns in the community. It was first mentioned in writing in 845, when the Hamburg Bishop Ansgar, fleeing Vikings, reached what is now Ramelsloh. He founded a medieval monastery here. Today's church building dates from the 19th century. In Ramelsloh there is a commercial area and a small shopping center.

Ramelsloh has belonged to the municipality of Seevetal since July 1, 1972.
