Lake Hald is also a very good swimming / bathing spot - the best in central part of Jutland.
There is both good access at the most southern point where there is a pier with a ladder down to shallow water goo.gl/maps/LeeXbfu9t5C5ht8b8 and in the north end where there is a club with a sauna that takes a dip all winter haldege.itj.dk.

The southern pier is most popular with open water swimmers that can be seen from spring into the autumn wearing wetsuits. First in July and August is the lake hot enough for longer swims in bathing suit, but you can easily take a shorter dip.

Hald Lake is something special and the 1600 hectare area is a nature reserve. Every year around a quarter of a million people visit Hald Lake and the Dollerup Hills. The nature is very varied and is known for its ice age geology. The glacial valleys and the over 31 meter deep Hald Lake were created by the forces of the ice age. The beautiful nature with the deep lake, trickling streams, quiet forests and extensive heaths forms the breeding ground for a diverse plant and animal life.
In addition, the area has been designated as a "national geological interest area", "EU habitat" and "cultural landscape worthy of special protection".
