Idyllic rest area at Hald Sø.

With a quarter of a million visitors per year, the Hald See/Dollerup Bakker area is
one of the most popular destinations in Viborg Municipality. It has been declared a "National Geological Interest Area," an "EU Habitat Area," and a "Cultural Landscape of Special Importance." Furthermore, the village of Dollerup is designated a "Village of Special Importance."

The area around Hald Sø is truly something special.

The Hald See and Dollerup Bakker area, covering approximately 1,600 hectares, is a nature reserve. Due to the glacial features and the dramatic differences in elevation—by Danish standards—between the 31-meter-deep lake and the steep slopes south of the lake,

the area is often referred to as the "crown jewel of Denmark's glacial geology."

The diverse natural landscape, with its deep lake, babbling brooks, tranquil forests, and extensive heathlands, also provides excellent conditions for a rich variety of flora and fauna.
