After a short climb you reach the crater of Montaña Samara from a parking lot. The path is worth a visit because of the beautiful landscape - Canarian pine trees in a bed of lava - and because of the wide views of Pico Teide and Pico Viejo.

Easy hike with beautiful views, you run all the time on lava gravel and there is no shade. In the end, it is still worth the ascent to the Alto de Montana.

The Sámara volcano is one of the younger craters on the island and is located in the Teide National Park. There is an information board on the road showing the trail network to the various craters. A very surreal landscape. Really impressive!
