Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Star

On a rocky spur on top of Monte Stella, in a dominant position over the village and the entire valley, stands the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella, dedicated to the Queen of the Mountain.
The Sanctuary, once in Gothic style, reduced to ruins has been recovered, with significant changes to the original structure.
The small niche on the façade of the churchyard, until 2013, contained a sculpture of the Sienese school of the Madonna with Child, now housed in the church of San Nicola di Ogliara in Salerno.
Inside the Sanctuary you can admire two recent majolica, one depicting the Sanctuary before the restoration work, the other depicting Monsignor Gaetano Pollio on a jeep, on the occasion of the inauguration of the rebuilt Sanctuary (1974).
Beyond the religious building, there is an ancient water cistern probably used by Benedictine monks, while on one side you can see a stone structure that must have been the monastery's refectory, unfortunately today in a state of neglect.

On the top of the mountain, resting on a rock spur, there is a small church dedicated to the Madonna Queen of Monte Stella.
