The Eichhorst lock - together with the Rosenbeck lock - makes it possible to overcome the gradient between the Werbellinsee and the Oder-Havel Canal. Both locks are semi-automatic systems: you start them yourself if you want to lock.

Hiking

The Eichhorst lock is one of the most spectacular locks I've passed so far. In the lock passage, which you can initiate yourself using a green lever, you overcome a height of around three meters. If you slide upwards, the masses of water pour into the lush basin like in a white water channel. Small boats should therefore stay behind (unless you are using boats suitable for white water, then it is a real pleasure).
