It's a pity that you can't see this sacred building inside and you can admire it from behind the fence. The molenna in Wodzilki was established in 1863. It did not have a bell tower, it was added in 1928, thanks to which the church took on the silhouette of an Orthodox temple similar to those built in the 17th century in Lithuania. The furnishings of the monastery are modest - a dozen or so icons, old books and crosses. In 1997, it was completely renovated. Much more information here suwalszczyzna.com.pl/info/miejsca/wodzilki

This is the mollena of the Old Believers. However, the changed shape of the building by adding a bell tower made it similar to other Orthodox temples.

The village has existed since 1788, founded by Old Believers. Old Believers found themselves in the Suwałki region around 1780, where they took refuge from cruel persecution in Russia. Their cause was the opposition to the reform introduced by the Patriarch of the Russian Church, Nikon, in 1654. The reform consisted in the unification of the holy books (until now full of confusing glosses, corrections and additions). This caused a split (raskoł) in the Russian Church and persecution of supporters of the old books and rites.
