The current bandstand was renovated in 2005. A year earlier, the building in the heart of the Lage Singelbolwerk was almost destroyed by arson. Zaltbommel had the bandstand restored so that it would look perfect again during the Vestingstedendagen, a national event that Zaltbommel hosted that year.
