The mayor of Nassau resided in the old Nieder "Rathaus", built in 1840, until 1848 and then the freely elected mayor until the incorporation in 1928. In 1908 the building was rebuilt, expanded and given a facade in the neo-baroque style.
In 2008 the building was renovated so that it now shines in its original splendor and now serves as a police station…. 🚴translated by
