Next door is the well-known Hahnöfersand prison, the Hahnöfersand correctional facility (JVA HSand) encompasses the areas of pre-trial detention, open and closed prisons as well as a socio-therapeutic department. There are a total of 176 detention places. In addition, there are 20 detention places in the area of the youth detention center, which also belongs to JVA HSand.
