In 1911 the Gänselieselbrunnen was inaugurated on Haussmannplatz - a minor sensation at the time, because according to Saxon law, only cities were allowed to build market fountains at the time. The Kreischaer Brunnen shows a maid plucking a goose. The creator of the figures was the scholarship-supported sculptor Max Dittert. The funds were made available by the Saxon Culture Fund.
