St. Vitus Altenmünster
The nave, the recessed, three-sided choir in the east, and the lower floors of the choir flanking tower on the north wall of the choir essentially date back to the second half of the 15th century. The choir flanking tower, with its square ground plan, was expanded in 1618/19 with a tall octagonal storey with pilasters at the corners, which houses the clock tower, and covered with an onion dome.
The interior of the nave was decorated with frescoes and medallions depicting the symbols of the Evangelists in 1796, and spanned by a flat ceiling. The choir is covered with a lunette vault. Around 1700, a pulpit and a high altar were added to the church's furnishings, the altarpiece of which depicts St. Vitus, which was not added until 1890. The organ, built by Ludwig Frosch in 1880, was restored in 1982 as Opus 95 by Orgelbau Sandtner.
