Very nice well-kept chapel with beautiful grounds and rest stop. Unfortunately, you can not really see much of the open pit from the lookout.

In 1991, the "Association for the Promotion of the Memorial Chapel of the Church Game Salary" was founded.
His goal was to build a chapel where the old parish church once stood.
It was to keep alive the memory of the two churches and the five dredged villages of the parish.
It was not until ten years later - on November 12, 2001 - that the groundbreaking took place. The foundation stone was laid on June 29, 2002, exactly 100 years after the foundation stone was laid for the old parish church.
The ceremony was held on May 25, 2003. In the interior of the chapel, many objects are reminiscent of the old churches in Lohn and Fronhoven. Examples are: * the altar of the chapel from the Lohner church. It is the former right side altar, which was called Jesus-Maria-Josef-Altar. * The figures on the right wall were until the excavation at the pulpit in the St. Josef church in Fronhoven. They represent Christ and the four great church teachers, Ambrose, Augustine, Hieronymus and Gregory the Great.st-silvester-lohn.net/kapelle.htm
