The Stevns lighthouse stands on the Stevns cliff, at the highest point to be precise. From here you have a fantastic view of the sea and the largely flat landscape inland.
The lighthouse is open every day. During the week from 11 a.m. and on weekends from 12 p.m. It closes at 4 p.m. in summer and at 3 p.m. in winter. Admission is free.

The original "Stenvs Fyr" lighthouse dates from 1818 and was the most modern lighthouse in Europe at the time.
The building in which the tower was placed can still be seen today.
Next to the original lighthouse at Stevns, a 27 meter high, free-standing lighthouse made of chalk was built in 1778.
Chalk stone, which comes from the chalk stone Stevns Klint, and was excavated by farm workers from Gjorslev Castle.
