There is also a toilet at the parking lot, but you can only stand here for 20 minutes, heavily frequented, 900m further is a long-term parking lot with a better view

The view from up here is really regal. When looking from the crater rim, about 300 m down, the northern lake (Lagoa Azul) appears blue due to the reflection of the sky and the southern lake (Lagoa Verde) appears green due to the vegetation.By the way, the origin of the name Vista do Rei is related to the visit of King Carlos I and Queen Amélia on July 6, 1901.

From here to Lagoa Verde the path is not "official", very washed out but easy to walk. Wildly romantic and no comparison to the asphalt road.
