The famous Kurhaus, built in Art Nouveau style, is one of the landmarks of the Passer town and spa town of Meran.
Along the most traditional promenade of Meran, the Kur- or Passerpromenade, the well-known Kurhaus stands next to the Stadttheater Meran. It is a glamorous venue for congresses, celebrations, balls and concerts, and serves as an elegant backdrop for the Merano Christmas market during the Advent season. The Kurhaus Meran is not only a member of the "Historical Event Centers" (HCCE - Historic Conference Centers of Europe), but also the seat of the Meran spa administration, the contact point for guests of the spa town.

The building was opened in 1874, then still with gas lighting, and consisted of what is now the west wing. The other wings of the Kurhaus were built in 1913/14 and opened on New Year's Eve 1914. On the outside it shows itself in the most beautiful Art Nouveau style with a dome, a spacious terrace and elegant graces on the roof. Inside, you will find an elegant foyer with a staircase, the magnificent Kursaal with ceiling paintings and Art Nouveau ornaments, the rotunda and the gallery. Numerous other conference and exhibition rooms as well as the Pavillon des Fleurs, the hall of mirrors in the older wing, complete the unique building.

The Kurhaus was renovated in the 1980s, only to be reopened in 1989 with a magnificent concert by the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. It is located right in the center of Meran.
