A large lock on the Moselle at Koenigmacker. Very interesting if you are lucky enough to arrive at the same time as one of the large river barges is passing through.

The **Koenigsmacker Lock** is a large lock on the Moselle near the Luxembourg border. Here, cargo ships negotiate the difference in elevation of the canalized Moselle – a fascinating spectacle of water, steel, and precise control.
The lock area is easily visible and is nestled between green spaces, a bike path, and the banks of the Moselle.
**Tip:** Watch a ship being locked up close – especially exciting for technology fans and families. Mornings or late afternoons are often the busiest times.
