The picturesque village of Govilon has a lot going for it. Nestled in the Usk Valley, it is surrounded by characterful hills and has the historic Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal running straight through it. Tafarn Y Bont, the village pub, is a great option for post hike refreshment and there are a few guesthouses in the village and surrounding area.

It is a good starting point for hikes to the summit of Blorenge, which at 1,841 feet (561 m) rewards with splendid views of Abergavenny, the Usk Valley, the neighbouring curves of Sugar Loaf and the beyond to the main Black Mountains massif.
