A chapel in Hüngersdorf was first mentioned in the visitation reports of the Archdiocese of Cologne from 1536. Neither the location nor the appearance of this chapel have survived. In any case, the mentioned chapel was replaced by today's church building around 1657. Hüngersdorf has always belonged to the parish of St. Johann Baptist in Ripsdorf, but the chapel was owned by the civil parish until 1985 and only then became the property of the parish. In the years 1960 and 1986 the church was renovated and repaired. Source: Wikipedia
