The brick church of Løgumgårde was built at the end of the 12th century, and is therefore older than the monastery church in Løgumkloster. The rather large church in Romanesque style was possibly built by the first Cistercian monks in Løgum Monastery.
Archaeological excavations at the church indicate a Viking village and a large courtyard from the 12th century.

The church in Nørre Løgum was built in the Romanesque / early Gothic style. Legend has it that the church on a Hallig served as a fort and as a shelter for the town of Tønder. At the same time she was in close contact with Tønderhus. The theory is confirmed by the fact that the church is not in the largest town in the parish, Saed. Another theory is that the place was a pagan holy place. West of the church is Denmark's oldest rectory from around 1600 with paintings from 1747 and a crucifix from 1525.
