It's a shame that the bike path is not paved throughout. That would pull a lot of racing cyclists off the busy road. So you do the highway feeder or a detour via techanting.
Nevertheless, the part of the bike path is very nice! Until shortly before Müllnern also paved and then gravel. Also works with a racing bike, but it is not ideal. It's always beautiful along the Gail, of course!

Road cycling

Anyone who, like us, wants to go to the Gerli campsite from Villach could take this route. The alternative would be the big yellow road with a motorway feeder road. After 70 km of beautiful cycling route in the countryside, we were fed up with loud, fast traffic. The Gerli campsite is recommended. Quiet, nice and cheap.
