The Löcknitz rises in a small pond near the Bienenwerder forester's house west of Müncheberg (see tour "Hoppegarten, origin of the Löcknitz near Bienenwerder",
komoot.de/tour/348434862).
Up to the Maxsee it is called the Hoppegartener Fließ. Behind the outflow from the Maxsee, this joins the Stöbberbach after about 1.5 km. From here the stream officially bears the name Löcknitz.
A few meters behind the confluence, which lies in an inaccessible wetland, you can also get to the Löcknitz. A small footbridge leads over the stream into these wet meadows.
