The town hall was completed in 1364 with the completion of the almost 70 m high tower. The world famous city hall clock was installed in 1410.

The astronomical clock (Orloj) was completed towards the end of the 15th century on the south wall. However, some parts of the clock are even older, such as the astronomical dial: it dates from 1410. It is decorated with various figures, with the figure of the Grim Reaper in particular always attracting eerie, respectful looks. In the 17th century, the clock was supplemented by moving figures: the well-known procession of the twelve apostles, which still moves every hour on the hour to the sound of bells.
