The most important archaeological monument in Hesse was created in the 8th 9th century from this period. Probably the Carolingian royal palace. Charlemagne was here before me too. Very nicely preserved foundations, especially the round church with altar. Property easily imaginable with imagination. Detailed information boards.

Such an interesting archaeological site in the forest stimulates my imagination again and again about what was going on here in the Middle Ages. Follow the signs with the symbolic round church, it's worth it.
