On Whit Sunday, the season for open-air services traditionally begins at the event area at the Thülsfelder Talsperre reservoir, while a total of nine open-air services will take place at the reservoir during the summer months. Numerous believers have been attending masses in nature for decades, which are organized and conducted by the Catholic parish of St. Marien in Bethen and the association Erholungsgebiet Thülsfelder Talsperre.
