In the city forest, families not only get to know the animal and plant world, but also test their fitness on the Danube course or on the adventure playground

The city forest in St. Pölten, created in 1898 in honor of Emperor Franz Joseph I as the Imperial Forest, offers parents and children plenty of space for recreation and exercise. The park area to the west of the city center is home to around 250,000 plants and families can find out about the local flora and fauna on the two-kilometre-long forest nature trail.

The animal enclosure and the adventure playground are a fixed part of the hike through the city forest in St. Pölten, especially for children. On the spacious adventure playground, the children romp and play in the midst of trees in the great outdoors and discover lots of play attractions such as a cable car, a slide tower or the triangular swing. The animal enclosure includes around 50 animals such as fallow deer, rams and mouflons.

But this spacious park also takes care of physical fitness. Families can test their physical condition and fitness on the Danube course, which has 15 stations.
