The bat house is not designed for bats, but for visitors: 12 hammocks and 16 hanging chairs invite you to "hang out" in it. The temporary wooden construction by the architecture studio heri & salli has the appearance of a four-storey house with a gable roof. The space between the open gable walls is free of all fixed fixtures and serves the sole purpose of relaxing by swinging and finding a moment of peace. There is indirect lighting on each floor, which is arranged in such a way that only a little light radiates into the surroundings.

The wooden construction of the bat house, which was most recently an eye-catcher in Seestadt Aspern, is 16 m high, 10 m wide and 6 m deep. Since it had to make way for a residential building there, a new home was found in St. Pölten - at the top of the "toboggan hill" on Waldstrasse between HTL and Kolpinghaus. In addition to those on the Panoramaweg and at Viehofner See, the Flederhaus is already the third observation tower in the city.
