The large industrialist and passionate art collector Dr. Between the two world wars, Otto Krebs had the former Holzdorf manor turned into an exclusive private summer residence. Among other things, he also designed the Alpinum.
Today's Holzdorf estate was acquired by Diakonie in 1999 as the non-profit organization of the estate.
